During this free tour you will learn about the history surrounding the construction of PPL’s hydroelectric dam and plant in the 1920’s and how PPL manages the lake today.

Canal Festival, WCHS Delaware & Hudson Canal Park at Lock 31, 179 Rte 6, 1 mile west of Hawley, Saturday, 10am-5pm. 570-253-3240. The Wayne County Historical Society will host the first Annual Canal Festival and public ribbon cutting at the circa 1820s Lock 31 site. Featuring canal history, heritage activities, children’s games, food, music, crafts and educational exhibits.
Open Market Fair, Lake Wallenpaupack Visitors Center, Saturday, 10am – 5pm. 570-226-3191. Stop by the lawn to shop, browse and enjoy handmade products. Sponsored by the Pocono Lake Region Chamber of Commerce. Free Admission.
Boat, Watercraft and Outdoor Show, Wallenpaupack Area High School, Saturday, 10am – 5pm. Browse through beautiful boats, watercraft and ATV’s. Lighthouse Harbor Marina, New Wave in Recreation, 1st Klas Marina, A&D Landis Marine, Driftwood Cove Marina, and The Boat Shop will have products on display. Free Admission.
Battle of the Bands, Lake Wallenpaupack in front of Visitors Center. Saturday, 11:30am-7:30pm. Three bands will perform throughout the day on a floating stage in front of the Dike and Visitors Center ON Lake Wallenpaupack. (Free)
