Hawley, PA. August 14, 2012. It’s nearly here. Wally Lake Fest 2012 is almost a week away and the excitement is mounting as residents, visitors, business owners and merchants look forward to three days full of non-stop fun and adventure. Lake Wallenpaupack and its surrounding area provides outdoor recreational opportunities all year round and its natural beauty has brought people here either as residents or visitors for decades.

This is the festival’s third year and it’s quickly becoming one of the biggest events in the Pocono Mountains. Wally Lake Fest organizers decided a big festival at the end of the summer would help prolong the fun in and around the lake before back to school and the busy Labor Day holiday weekend.

Friday is the night for live entertainment as area restaurants feature musicians playing everything from jazz to rock. The Ritz Company Playhouse will also hold a showing of “Bingo!” a farce by Allan Stratton, beginning at 8 p.m.
